Welcome back, everyone, to the official Nothing In The Pantry blog. Sorry we were a lil' quiet over the summer, but not to worry! We are BACK, and we're as excited as if we just found a half-price sweater at Rude Girls.
(BTW, if you're new here, hi!! Welcome, from the NITP gang! You can read about us and our mission here—tldr; we're a bunch of women who love to shred and we're here to support other women in the snow and adventure industry.)
What's got us so fired up for the winter? Well, first of all, NITP EVENTS ARE BACK, BABY!
Yup, you read that right! Events, real life events, in person, are back, and we’re starting off the season hot with our annual Movie Night TONIGHT, November 30th, at SilverStar Mountain. We'll be taking over the big screen and showing some of the best ski and snowboard films to come out this fall, including: Connected (Rosina Friedel), Zero Chill (Jill Perkins), and The Bonezone (Taylah Brooke).
We're also beyond chuffed to be broadcasting one of the exclusive premieres of The Uninvited 3—thanks to Jess Kimura and her band of gnarly street shredders, we are (not so) patiently awaiting to have our minds blown by this movie. But most of all, we're looking forward to hang out with you guys, having a beer (or seven) at The Red Antler, and feeling like life is getting back to normal again.
(P.S. We're expecting the event to fill up fast but you can pre-register here!)
And that's not all. The rumours are true—this season we'll be bringing back our very popular and much-missed Ride Days! Stay tuned for dates, but we're fired up to get back out on the mountain with everyone to ride the hill and take over the park. Whether you've never hit a box before or you're lacing rails like they're nothing, you're invited!
And, okay, we haven't had the best snowfall yet, but it’s just been confirmed that this will be a La Nina ENSO weather year, which basically means we’re expected some serious snow up in western Canada soon. We can already see ourselves calling in sick to carry out some much-needed self care (pow laps).
Everyone in central B.C. watching the snowpack melt in the rain yesterday:
It's safe to say we're excited for a normal-ish winter after nearly 2 years of weirdness. If you’re lucky enough to be up at SilverStar with us this season, there’s going to be Rail Jams to watch and/or participate in, slopestyle events happening in the park, and plenty of fun stuff in the village to get involved with. All of this is COVID-dependent ofc, because if there's anything the last 2 years has taught us, it's that you can never be sure of anything. Keep those fingers crossed!
Keep an eye on our social media for dates and details of our events, and we hope to see a lot of you tonight for some movie watching!
