Normally at this point in the season we begin with a Movie Night at SilverStar Mountain Resort to welcome any new girls to the area and also to celebrate the talented women in skiing and snowboarding who have dominated our screens.
Unfortunately this is not a normal year, and as we try and make the right decisions this season we've had to push back the tradition. HOWEVER, there have been absolutely fire edits getting dropped left right and centre and we still want to showcase some of the females who have been killing it!
So, as you'll know if you've been keeping up-to-date with our Insta posts, we've been doing a Virtual NITP Movie Marathon - showcasing a different movie every day! Here they all are in one place for your viewing pleasure.
Coach
Kicking off the virtual movie marathon we have Coach. The hilarious Katie Burrell and Colleen Gentemann team up to capture legendary Lorraine Huber and Hedvig Wessel taking on the Freeride World Tour, with its many obstacles and all its glory. This badass team of females humorously expose the challenge that female athletes continually face in action sports. Do yourself a favour, head over to The Vimff to get your tickets to watch Coach.
Motherload
Next up, MOTHERLOAD. Follow the captivating journey of Tessa Treadway and Izzy Lynch as they go through the ups and downs of being a passionate skiier/mom combo. The Lynch Sisters' film capture these mothers moments of love, struggle, growth, healing and adapting that are found in the mountains and on skis. This isn't available online as of Nov 29th (cry) but we'll let you know as soon as it's back!
The Uninvited II
The second of The Uninvited movies is no secret, it's been blowing peoples minds since it dropped Nov 17. Despite the struggles, legendary Jess Kimura has been forcing space for women in the industry by creating a second movie with back-to-back fire shots from a massive list of talented ladies. A huge thanks to Jess and all the ladies in the film for the sacrifices, determination and passion that it took to create such a film. This is a must watch.
Snowboarders Guide to the Galaxy
Not only is this husband-and-wife duo bringing next-level creativity to the streets but they are also helping the environment around them. With passion and love behind them, Elena Graglia and Kael Hill are challenging the way we make choices involving our planet and our snowsports community, two truly inspiring humans on and off the board. The only way to peep this film is to DM either Elena or Kael on Insta and show them how you are contributing to the planet or our community - get on it!
Tangle
This highly anticipated full length film directed by Ted Borland beautifully captures an amazing line up of riders (and their dogs) chasing their passion of snowboarding while showing original spots and tricks to match. With almost equal parts of female to male riders, each part has a style of its own and this film was definitely worth the wait. Featuring some of our favourite ladies Desiree Melancon, Jill Perkins and Nirvana Ortanez.
One World
39 riders and ONE WORLD, in this movie Burton show off their talented and diverse team of riders. The team travel all over the globe to capture moments from the streets to the backcountry. This beautifully cinematic film showcases females such as Anna Gasser, Maria Thomsen, Zoi Sadowski-Synnott, and many, many more. Prepare yourself for a mind melting film. Check out One World on Amazon Prime (it's worth the effort TRUST US).
Facets
An empowering film by The North Face showcasing Jess Kimura, Leanne Pelosi, Marion Haerty and other women who have all seriously impacted the industry and set new standards for female snowboarding, not by competing with one another but by working together and lifting up other women. Each have faced their own unique hardships to pave the way for the rest of us, but they all share a common love for the mountains.
Huck Yeah
Finishing off our movie marathon with HUCK YEAH! A full mind-blowing ski film with interesting stories, progressive skiing and amazing cinematography. Showcasing the best skiiers in the world, including one of our favourite crews The Blondes, make sure to watch these girls and friends stomp tricks, shred the big mountains and embrace these breathtaking locations. Find it on iTunes here.

We hope you enjoyed the NITP Movie Marathon as much as we did!
